MiJin and I have been brainstorming interview questions, reaching out to key leaders in our March 14th walkout over the past four weeks. However, we know that thousands of high schools across the country are telling the same story, so we took time to make sure our angle was unique: a close communication between Student Government, the principal, and organizers, a bell schedule and teacher accommodation for the 47 minute period (including walking to/from stadium), and the complex preparations and legal roadblocks leading up the event, including the prohibition of using SGA funds to buy shirts.
We will release it within a few days after March 14th to ensure timely coverage including videos, audio bytes, and pictures at the actual event. There are 4 photographers planning to be there on the scene.
Sadhana and I also wrote a satire referencing the gun control debate. This is just our opinion and does not reflect the content of the walkout article, but hope you enjoy 🙂
